Not that I don't enjoy Summer, but the end of July signals to me the halfway point in the long wait till next ski season. I can't wait to make turns on or around Halloween. Last year was awesome…Continue

Legendary snowmaking?

That little catch phrase won't be around long if there isn't more consistency from one gun to the next. Never above 25 degrees all weekend and yet still blowing water everywhere the guns were…Continue

The Oz experiment

On the weekends of March 26th and April 2nd, I couldn't help notice lift # 15 the Oz Quad running while most everything west of North Peak shut down due to Mother Natures cruel games. I never made it over to Oz on those two occasions but felt SR was finally giving that area a chance to be used and appreciated by a large number of advanced skiers, who on wind hold days are eager for more challenging terrain to open. While skiing yesterday, I saw many of you enjoying the last turns of the season…See More

Last year was awesome taking in the foliage while riding up the Locke triple in mid October. What is your halfway point?See More

Legendary snowmaking?

That little catch phrase won't be around long if there isn't more consistency from one gun to the next. Never above 25 degrees all weekend and yet still blowing water everywhere the guns were running. What happened to skiing under the guns all day being the next best thing to a powder day. This season, I avoid any trail that has snow making or large whale backs because of the danger and risk involved. This weekend there were no excuses. Go back to the old formula and keep what worked best!See More

50th Celebration: Which local restaurant won over your taste buds?

Great turnout at the South Ridge Lodge for sampling all the flavors of the local restaurants. Thank you all for giving us something different at every station to sample.I know the lines were ridiculous, soon after the 6:30 opening, but if you were fortunateenough to find the short lines and fill your appetite, which vendor was your favorite asfar as presentation, menu and generosity?I had two favorites that were closest to the slopes.See More

What a great sight on the slopes

I was skiing with my group on Sunday when we spotted a pack of young telemarkers. I've never tried it and probably never will, but to see these young kids making it look like ballet is a testament to the River Runners program and their coach. It's always fun to see the young ones on the hill making their first pizza wedges, or trying out snowboarding and this is just another sight that brings a smile. If you see them, you too will be enviousSee More

The 1st time I actually skied powder with some fat skis down Quantum Leap with my son and left the rest behind. We were on the 5th chair at North Peak headed for some untracked pow towards Jordan. I think that day, we had four first track runs and left some beautiful figure 8s all the way down.

Sully was long gone so there was no wind. Snow was deep and soft and bumps are getting big. The anchor was holding his own.

I have no idea if my other post went thru or not, cause I'm a techie idiot. You didn't miss a thing up there this week. Every day was less than 10 solo runs and done

Talk about a wasted week! Less and less snow, with just as many people on Mon and Tues as there were on the weekend. Every single racer wannabe on the east coast is up there this week!. On Tuesday, I was in line at 8:45AM and it was 9:30 before I got to the top of Locke. Incredible! Good luck if you're heading up for the weekend. I'm going to stay in Mass and drink heavily hoping for snow for next weekend. I'm tired of mud, I want actual snow under my boots
