2015-15 Stanley Cup talk

Figured we need a hockey thread with the season about to start.  Don't have real high expectations for the Bruins, but maybe they'll surprise me.Starting with a throwback to 20 years ago today, which was the closing date of the original Boston Garden. On September 28, 1995, the Boston Garden closed for good after one final exhibition game between the Bruins and the Canadiens. Many, many great memories there for me...Bruins games, Dead shows (among many others), Celtics on occasion, Ringling…See More

Saddleback opening in 2015-16 in jeopardy

Not good news from Saddleback.  The Berry family have been good stewards of Saddleback, but are living proof of the old saying "if you want to make a small fortune start with a larger one and buy a ski resort".  Would be a real shame (not to mention a serious blow to the local economy) if they can't operate this season. They've been looking for a buyer since 2012, maybe we should start a collection?…See More

Road bike buying 101

Moving this over to a new thread...Thanks, sitz!  I am open to any and all advice, and will start with the site you linked below.  The bike I rented in Florida was a Giant (don't remember the model, but was told it retails for about $700)...size was "medium" which the shop owner said is 54/55.  Road great from a tech standpoint, but from a fit standpoint it did feel "short" on the top tube length (like I wanted my hands father out in front of me) and maybe just a tad small on the height…See More

RIP Dr. Omar D. "Chip" Crothers

Sadly, Chip Crothers passed away last week.  Chip was co-founder of Maine Handicapped Skiing (now Maine Adaptive Sports & Rec) with Les Otten in 1982.  He was also a founder of Orthopedic Associates.  Both organizations are well known to many Maine snowsports enthusiasts. Unfortunately I am travelling for work tomorrow and can't attend his memorial service, the details of which can be found is his obituary...…See More

Hey Zenny! Great show the other night. The only bummer was getting the shakedown by the NHSP on the way back. They wanted to nail us for something but couldnt come up with anything (searched the vehicle, gave me a field sobriety test). I never want to expirience that again!

Have a grateful day!

what's really weird is I will be joining HP after 10 years out of the DEC/Compaq family. Would have been meeting with Joe in Texas next week when I am there. (great to see Scotty's latest video)
I was at MHS this weekend and gave the vets a ski adirondack to bring back to their rehab hospital, great feeling to help!
