Good Game Sunday River...Good Game

Hey Gang, As another season draws to a close it is time once again to say so long and farewell! It has been an awesome year, and I again thank you all for your support, suggestions, and of course patience. I leave you now in the very capable hands of Darcy, as I will now get to sleep in and free ski around. Hopefully I will see you all at the pass holder BBQ or SkiMania. If not, have a great summer and we will see you down the road! -Jarod  See More

Snow Reporter Mailbag!

It is time for another addition of the snow reporter blog, and this time around I felt it would be safe to let the inmates run the asylum. I asked for your questions, and you responded very nicely and I thank you for your questions. These are real questions, from real community members…What is your favorite trail? -- ga2skiThat is a tough question. Getting to ski practically everyday does have its advantages, and I get to ski a lot of the terrain often, and try to mix my runs up quite a bit.…See More

Snow Reporter Mail Bag

Hey all. For next week's snow reporter blog I will be answering your questions in the first installment of the "Snow Reporter Mailbag." Here is how it will work, PM me with any questions you may have about pretty much anything. From who I think will win the Super Bowl, to questions about Sunday River, or my thoughts on movies and TV. Pretty much anything is fair game and I will try to answer as many as I can in next week's blog. I look forward to your questions!-JSee More

This is how we do it.

One of the more popular questions around Sunday River is regarding how we do our snow reporting. Here, we hope to shed some light on how Team Snow completes the Sunday River snow report to provide you with the most accurate snapshot of what is going on across the resort’s eight peaks.Every morning, the snow reporter gets to the mountain between two and two-and-a-half hours before the lifts open. On “snow event” days, the snow reporter will be in the office as early as three hours before lifts…See More

Sunday River Word Game

We did this last year, and today is a good day to bring it back. Rules are simple; I will start with a word/trail name that is Sunday River/skiing related. The next word has to start with the last letter of the previous word. i.e. Cat---Tag---Good...etc. No repeats, and keep it clean. Good Luck. 1st word---> VikingSee More

100% OPEN!!

Whoever guessed that January 21st would be the day we hit 100% wins. What they win I don't know, but they win. I think we all win with these amazing conditions. Thank you snowmakers, groomers and Mother Nature. Now get out there and rip it!

Some like it hot...

Well if you haven't noticed recently it has been a bit, um, frosty outside. Granted cold is great for snow, snow sports, snowmaking, and snowpeople, it can sometimes take away from our ski day. To prevent such further interruption of the enjoyment of skiing and riding I have done some research and compiled a list of ways to, and ways not to, keep warm.

1. Dress in layers- I know that is kind of simple and straightforward but it can go a long way in insuring your comfort, and ultimate… Continue

'Twas The Night Before Christmas Redux

‘Twas the day before Christmas and all ‘round the River

The snowguns were blazing, the best snow they deliver.

Each trail being covered with precision and care,

With billions of snowflakes being tossed through the air.

All nestled in my office I felt a sense of dread,

With the snow report due I was going brain dead.

I had writers block, and creativity I lack,

Then in busted Santa, with many gifts in his sack!

“I hear you need help, and I can… Continue
