If you are in the Portland area (or pass through), Allspeed Ski & Bike (great shop/people) is offering a $12 ski tune (base sand/sharpen/hot wax) for $12 on Groupon Portland.So get on it!  These guys are up at SR just about every weekend.  They are the group of tele skiers that have that sweet silver Sprinter (party) Van and not only rip but are cool guys as well.See More

Honey we are coming home!

After another (extended) Utah stint with T & W, reality is kicking us in the butt with a steel toed boot and we must return to the Northeast.  It was a helluva trip with some great powder and some no so great powder but it was all good.  Started dumping again here around 2pm yesterday and we got in several quality snowcat runs before dinner in anticipation of night powder skiing.  Unfortunately they shut down night skiing because of wind gusts of 70mph (wusses,LOL).So T & W have…See More

Greetings from Saddleback

The snow is unbelievable and there are hardly any people. The natural snow trails & trees are skiing great. No Kennebago quad yet, but the crosscut brings you to some real sweet terrain. Skied till 4 yesterday and Mrs MS69 found a groomed trail with 2 sets of tracks. Buttery corduroy makes her happy which makes me happy b/c it allows me to venture off piste.MERRY CHRISTMAS & HAPPY HOLIDAYS!See More

SPEED TRAP ALERT!!!

95 Southbound in the Wells/Ogunquit area had a major state revenue production project in place around 10am.  I counted 10 cruisers marked and un-marked lined up for chase downs.  Did not see "the van" so they maybe picking them off from the air.  My radar detector didn't make a peep, fortunately I was going Northbound. So keep your nose to the air for the smell of bacon,See More

Whos going to be up this Saturday 7/31? FLOTILLA????

Having an obligation to fulfil in Oxford County Fri night into Saturday AM, I came up with an idea... Looks as though myself, Mrs MS69 and Digger (aka D-man, D, Digger-do) are going to come up Saturday late AM/noon for some Bethel summer activity and spend the night at Paws Inn. The plan would be to throw the Old Town Discovery 16 9 on the truck bring a cooler full of beer sandwiches and beverages (that will actually keep us hydrated) fishing rods, a towable floatation device and a sheep (don't…See More

Avalanche Warning for Tuckermans

No big surprise here, with all the new snow (on top of the old snow & wind).  WGME says that snow rangers predict an avalanche to occur TODAY with temps warming up. So anyone thinking of going up there today should wait. Good news is the bowl got filled up well from this storm.See More

Sounds like you have a good story to tell (that could have easily turned into a bad story).

Anway, I saw your comment about having a friend close (20 mins) to the Oxford fairgrounds, so I wanted to let you know that I live 25 mins from there (North Yarmouth) and am trying to coordinate the family commitments that usually are part of the July 4th weekend with attending all or part of this festival, and trying to work it out so Junior/Bruce can make it up as well (maybe have his family come up and stay at my house while he and I go to the shows). Anyway, it is a work/negotiation in progress so hopefully it all work out.
