I wonder if it be worth SR putting this down on SouthRidge for some extra summertime revenue?  I am sure it would cost a fortune to install, but I would pay to try it out!  No ice!

I wonder if the snocats might kill the matts in the winter when there isn't full snow coverage yet.

Jeez, ok nevermind. Also, I just watched some more video, you probably have to mow it, as grass grows up in the holes...Might end up being high maintenance!

I'd rather they invest in new lifts.

Tried it when I was 14yo (70's) and absolutely addicted to skiing.  Short little hill got old really fast.  Taught and did carpet maintenance for a season and then never looked back.  No interest.

Tenney Mtn. NH had a Japanese designed SnowMagic summer snowmaking system on a few trails in , but it was too expensive to use and the system was abandoned shortly after. It did run for the Summer and Fall of 2003. Tenney closed a few years later.

There are other things to do during the summer, ya know, lol.

How about just making some snow on Southridge in the WINTER!  Lots of ice down low last weekend.

But this stuff could also be used to make a nice tubing park for the summer.  I think that's more realistic thing that would make money.

My kids miss the old tubing park. No way we're spending $10/hr for Sundance tubing. Mt Abram had a nice tube park a few years back - actually scary - without my helmet I refused a second trip lol. My kids couldn't get enough of it. That's gone too.

Where was the old tubing? On tempest, where the light poles are?

Yes - there were two.  One skier's right where clearing and poles are.  Other (larger) track on skier's left starting left of Tempest lift just below T-Ridge first row and snaking (large banks) across forested area where second and third rows are now, dumping out onto RR.    Land was clearcut, so course is no longer visible.

Tempest tubing park was a blast. Hit Bumps Pub before and after for a fun evening.

I think SR needs to increase revenue without significant costs.  I get why keeping everything at South Ridge makes sense. I assume having more stuff out of White Cap made sense when the Grand Summit was newer and it was important to the mountain. I don't know what their revenue is out of Grand Summit, but if they could speed up that lift (it is so damn slow), add a park, and prioritize making snow on Little White Cap, it wouldn't be a bad place to be stuck if the rest of the mountain is closed due to wind hold.

Bumps, tubing followed by dinner at Mountains of Paste, great night.  Say hi to Harry for us.
