My wife is a lower intermediate skiier interested in improving. I know SR used to host a couple of womens specific ski clinics every year. Do they still do this? I didn't see anything on the SR website. This would be perfect for her, she would be less intimidated and less self conscious in an all womens group. Thanks.

Women's Turn is a seasonal program, but I'm sure they'd let her "guest" for a session to see how she likes it. Like the Black Diamond group, you can also get vouchers for a number of sessions, if you aren't at the mountain every week and don't want to spring for the whole season's worth.

They usually run Friday evening through Sunday afternoon. The Adult Perfect Turn Office located near the Fire Pit will have the dates. I took several of her clinics and loved them.

Bob,
We no longer offer the Woman’s Turn Weekend. I would suggest few options.
Privates lesson start at 85 dollars an hour. We have some great deals on multi-hours private lessons.

Group Clinics, 35$ dollars for a ninety minute clinic or two for 50$ on the same day.

Six Pack Program, six group lessons for 175$, a really great deal.

Permalink Reply by Wishes on February 2, 2012 at 4:42pm We haven't had the weekend clinics in a few years, which is a shame because they were very well liked by both participants and coaches.
We do offer both a half and a full-day private lesson for 1 to 6 people, and one group of women who used to attend the Women's Turn Workshop, have continued to spend a weekend together and hire me that way. To do so means you need others who ski at the same level.

Permalink Reply by Bob Mak on February 2, 2012 at 11:32pm Hi Wishes..... I ski every weekend, however my wife only gets 10 or so days in a year; she is not up enough to take advantage of a seasonal program and shy's away from the mix gender group sessions. The weekend program would have been perfect for her and she was looking forward to it. She is at the point where she is struggling a bit with her form and pole plants as an intermediate and gets frustrated. She would enjoy skiing more and consequently ski more often if she could improve her technique a bit. I think a weekend session with women at about her level would have given her boost she needs. If this clinic has a rebirth please post it.... she will be there!
Permalink Reply by Wishes on February 3, 2012 at 8:19am Maybe all she needs is a private lesson or two. Let me run an idea by the adult supervisor and I'll get back to you.

Permalink Reply by Susan on February 3, 2012 at 3:27pm Private lessons are awesome! While I don't mind the mixed gender lessons, I find that I don't always get the attention I need/want in a group. I have taken a few private lessons at different resorts over the past few years and all of them have been amazingly helpful. They are a little pricy, but totally worth it, IMO.
