Heated seats....give me a break. SR can't even staff River riverrunner program on vacation weeks and they get heated seats.....

Wait what is connection between Boyne and Yellowstone Club?  Am I missing something?  This is their 2nd lift of its type, fun w the bubble up. Awful w it down.

Isn't that what Hermitage is (or was?). Don't think that is working for them (even after having the Bachelor Olympic Games there).

We need an eastern Yellowstone Club to help subsidize improvements.

Of course having a rich neighbor helps & Boyne owns BS instead of just operating.

I would rather see more High Speed Quads then an 8 pack that would probably never be filled (not due to crowds, but just organizing 8 people on a chair), although I think a 6 pack on Jordan and Barker would be useful.

First 8 seater in USA

*From a thread where this was slightly less relevant*

[This] has to be a marketing scheme. They need something for the press to rave about so they can attract more skiers that would typically end up south of them. Genius move in my opinion. It worked with Powder Seeker (they're coming off record skier visit years), so they're probably just trying to repeat it.

This will be the fastest lift in the western hemisphere at 1300+ fpm. It will feature D-Line 8 passenger chairs (they really fancy ones that have only been used on a few lifts to date) with blue bubbles, a loading conveyor, and even a scaled down version of the D-Line media screen on the front of the terminals. The old Ramcharger equipment is also being relocated to replace Shedhorn, a long and slow used Heron-Poma double accessing a massive area.

Also with the recent announcements from Powdr at K and Copper, they had to really try to make a splash, and they sure did.  Now the question is what is Alterra's move, as they have not announced any lift upgrades for this construction season.

Personally I would love to see the look on the owners / operators of Vail, Powdr, and Alterra's faces right now.

Agree for same reason.  More than 4 becomes a "production" - to load and unload.  Much prefer a gondola cabin or tram in larger numbers.  Apologies to the "lift tech guys", but has no appeal for me.

Yeah, it seems like overkill, especially on Andersite.  I have to wonder if Boyne got a sweetheart deal from Dopp because it is the first of 2 things in North America, the 8 seats and first D-Line series at a ski resort.  The lift should haul tail, it has speeds upwards of 1300 FPM.  But on a 4500' or so line length, not sure it will make much of an impression.  The bubble here and heated seats will be useful as part of the 2025 plan has Andersite getting night skiing, but the 8 seats seem like overkill for Andersite.  Thus, must be a sweetheart deal.

Love that Shedhorn is getting a HSQ in this and that the mall is being expanded big time on the upper level.  Always felt like a lack of baselodge space was missing so this addition will be nice.

GM, yup.  And Spanish Peaks aquisition was also with CrossHarbor.  Not sure if the rumors are still going out there, but last time we were out 2 years ago, there was talk by the locals of a new lift going up to the top of Liberty Bowl.  The interesting note here is that the talk was the actual base of that lift would start in YC territory with a midstation for public use around the Dakota lift load level and that YC would partly finance that.  Apparently the YC folks want a faster way to the top of Lone Peak (or close to it).  A big, empty mountain of your own just isn't good enough I guess.

Besides sharing a mountain, Yellowstone Club has an interest in BS doing well. CrossHarbor is tied to both YC and the BS purchase of Moonlight. The first big change was this year & somewhat quiet, but the Moonlight base lodge is now members only and not open to the public.

I think you were out there this season based on other posts, did you try going into the Moonlight base lodge?

The only people that are thrilled drive Escalades. Seems like the equivalent lift.

6,8 same concept. Blue bubble
