I was skiing with my group on Sunday when we spotted a pack of young telemarkers. I've never tried it and probably never will, but to see these young kids making it look like ballet is a testament to the River Runners program and their coach.

It's always fun to see the young ones on the hill making their first pizza wedges, or trying out snowboarding and this is just another sight that brings a smile. If you see them, you too will be envious

The little ga2ski's have started a young telemark gang on the mountain. They may look cute and innocent for now but just remember "the apples don't fall far from the tree".....

On a serious note, that is cool. I have always threatened to try telemark but convince myself that this dog is too old for new tricks.
Not my pack, but I did see perfect turn coach on tele gear. Not sure if it was a river runner coach. It would great if there was a tele clinic for kids besides the telefest that only happens once a year.

I do know some people who post here whose kids rock on freeheels, but what should I expect they learned how to tele from the self proclaimed "best skier on the mountain". Haha
I believe River Runners started a Tele group last year.

The best skier on the mountain had some off mountain issues this past weekend. She was pushing the pace at the Griz Saturday night before it became apparent her training might not have been optimum in this regard. With that said she can still rip circles around me on tele's when physically challenged :)

Agree with the orginal poster, good to see the padawans on tele's. Mounting up a set for my son this weekend. Him and mom are joining the tele evolution.

Self Proclaimed best skier on the mountain?

I've met several of those at SR, both male and female.
I followed the little Tele_Tubbies down ectacsy and cascades and they were all in the woods and edges skiing like they've been doing it for years. Kinda shamed me a bit. to think , in 8 more years i'll be able to score from these little freeheeling dudes
yeah she looked out of apre' shape :-)

Love to see the kids on tele's. They pick it up so quickly too. They don't need lessons from the best skier on the mountain !

it wasn't self proclaimed ,Don was talking about a woman .That was pretty clear if you read what he said.
