this is the first time we have been up in a month due to blackouts, etc. and we saw a “Vertical Plud Express Pass” gate at the lifts. It looked like people were pulling right up to the lift and bypassing the lines. What is this? Is this something new? I’ve never seen it before. It sure looks nice being able to bypass the semi painful lines like today.

It was awesome!!!

It was great.  Available to parents of kids in one of the ski programs.  Don’t think it’s permanent...they are just testing it out the next couple of weeks.

Yes - just a test to collect feedback. Maybe something for next year.  It'll be running this weekend and the next 2.  They needed about 500 people and they invited anyone with someone in Gould or River Runners. I already told Dana that I think it's a horrible idea.  I don't like creating class structures.  It also would be taking value away from people who have already bought passes for next year without knowing this special line would exist.  We already have enough line cutters with the ski schools.  There's only a handful of days a year that this would really matter.

But it was sure nice to use this today.  Great for me,  bad for everyone else.

SNAKES.

Total BS.

Wait your turn like everyone else.

Ya, that sucked.  Good day to test it though because it was busy.  It took us thirty minutes to get through the Barker line, and it was not even that long.  Bad enough when you have group after group of kids' programs shutting down the flow.  This just pushed it over the top.  The comments from people standing in the regular lines were far from, umm... nice.

You would almost be forced to buy this thing if it was ever offered, but I agree with Poe that it is a class warfare thing and it would be mighty uncomfortable being one of these pass holders.  Hey SR, if you need the money that bad, add another five bucks next year to the already increased prices.  You will come ahead.

80% of my runs today were on lifts without express. Only needed to use it when getting out of Barker and SoRidge at Peak times. Definitely will be nice the next couple weeks - but overall I don't think it really "fits" at SR. I bet there was similar backlash at premium parking yet that's settled in nicely (especially at 10a).
Well said Poe! I agree 100%!

I’m not even sure to begin with a response or feedback other than to say it kind of sucks for everyone else at the mountain, ticket buyers and pass holders. It almost feels like a snub in that our money isn’t as good as those who have kids in orograms. I understand the concept and think to places like six flags who have express passes. The main difference is that it is offered to anyone willing to pay.

we spend a ton of money on child care, tiny turns, etc. just like anyone else, yet we aren’t alotted the same opportunity as others? Standing in line today and seeing others breeze through without having to wait was insulting. If attendance and admission is that bad with Gould, river runners or whatever that you need to offer a perk to parents than there is an underlying issue that should probably be addressed first.

there was some other stuff that came to mind too that I can’t remember at the moment but I don’t want to go too Max Hart on everyone.

Agreed, but as long as we are chatting on this.  We pay Gould tuition for Lil MrsMB and full time ski coaching, I have to ask why I wasn't offered one?  Tuition is just a bit more than weekend program cost.  For the record, I hate the idea.

I would be open if it cost a lot. That way the MT makes money, but only few people us it.

It was definitely a fun way to spend my wife's 40th bday. However I felt like a DB. Everytime people booed or yelled at me, I told them to email Dana as his name was on the letter we received.  Keep those emails flying. This does not belong at SR (for the record neither does perferred parking.) Only time lines are an issue are when mechanical issues or wind prevent the lifts from operating. Whether I can afford to pay for this Vertical+ or not, there are enough preferences in society based on who has money and who doesn't. When I load the lift, this should not be a factor.   This is Maine not Disney!!!!

So why didn't you all just wait in the regular line.... If your that opposed to it.  So you blame Dana, but f-it, I'll take advantage of it because it's my wife's B-day.  Wow.
