So why are our choices for brews at the resort from California , Chicago, Ontario, and Missouri?

Stop the  AB-InBev insanity and stop taking bribes from their distributors. Tell the bartenders how you feel until they get sick of hearing it.  Maine produces some of the best quality craft beers, yet there is little or no representation at our taps.  And don't give me "price point" when you charge over $7 for a Chicago beer brewed in Portsmouth with cheaper ingredients . You'd think part of "branding" a resort and separating it would involve featuring local foods and beverages.

Doesn't sound like you have your economical ducks in a row based on what I've heard...

Some bars are under contract with specific distributors, and simply don't have access to smaller breweries' products; further, Maine and NH beer margins aren't anywhere near the margins on nationally ranked breweries. Believe me, I'd love to have Maine brews on the taps at SR, but the reward for SR (margins) just isn't there...bringing in your beloved Baxter IPA (if it is even available through SR's distributor) at half the margins SR gets on a keg of Goose Island doesnt sell them enough additional beer to make any sense, unless they bump their already high prices up 20 to 40%...just to break even.

It stinks...just the nature of the beast.

I am here to post on the first page of this most historic thread.

A friend posted this today it must be a sign ! Sorry no offense meant just too funny. Classic

My recollection is that Sunday River Alt tap lines were available at some of the on mountain bars for a few years. I would pay extra for Baxter products on tap.
