Welcome to Survivor Pool #3. We are back for another year, following two very successful years in which the good folks of the Sunday River Community Board have raised over $3500 for Vermont Adaptive Ski and Maine Handicapped Skiing programs. We need to again thank our previous year winners (Steve Ski & Wheeler in year #1 and MrsG in year #2) for their generosity in donating their portion of the winnings back to VAS and MHS. Well done!
The board has met and we have one change to the way this game will be played this year. This year, ALL winnings will go directly to MHS and VAS, with prizes being given out to the winners. The prizes will take the shape of complimentary lift tickets to BOTH Killington /Pico and Sunday River. More details on prizes will follow in the near futre. We are going to stick with $20 entry fee and $20 to buy back in as we have in previous years.
Here are the official rules:
Official Rules
-The NFL season starts on September 9th
-Each week, participants pick the winning team for just one NFL game. This is straight up selection, no point spread taken into consideration. Picks will be made via posts on this thread. Wheeler, will provide specifics on how and when to post your pick.
-All picks must be made by 2:00 on Friday before games played on Sunday. We will address Thursday and Saturday games when we get to that point in the season. The board clock will serve as official time clock. A pick is not a pick until posted into this thread.
-You must pick a different team each week. Once you pick a team, they cannot be used again....even if they win.
-If your team wins, you survive to play the next week.
-If your team loses. You are eliminated from the pool.
-Ties count as loses.
-The last surviving player wins,
-If all remaining players lose in the same week, the results will be ignored with all players becomming active for the following week. However, the team that was picked that week will not be able to be used again the following week.
-If a player loses during the first 5 weeks, the player has the option of buying back in by paying the amount of the original entry fee ($20). The deadline for buying back in is Friday, October 22nd at 5:00 PM. After the deadline for buy back ends, you will not be able to participate. You can buy back as many times as you wish through the first 5 complete weeks of the season. Please note, if you buy back you cannot pick a team that you had previously picked.
-If there is more than one player remaining going into week 17, all remaining players will pick a winning team and a final score for both teams in the game they picked. Ties will be broken in the following order: 1) Closest to the winning teams score in their respective game, 2) Closest to losing teams score in respective game, and 3) Closest to total score. If there is still a tie, the pot will be split betweened the remaining[/b] tied players.
-All players must be 18 years of age
-All payments will be made via checks made out directly to MHS or VAS.
-All payments will be made when participant is "out of the pool".
-I will serve as Commissioner. Wheeler will serve as CFO and Cheif Analyst. Jr will serve as Chairman of the Board.
The NFL season begins on September 9th. If you are interested in playing, reply to this thread with a "yes". Your yes comment will commit you to the $20 entry fee and earn you a spot in the pool.

We are in for four likely
I will wait until the last Monday before the start of the season to set up the list so continue to commit here and I will assemble participant list with the first weeks line up.
They (MHS/VAS) can do a lot of good with this money.
