I would think Sunday River's Marketing would have taken advantage of the remaining pile of snow still remaining on Rocking Chair trail. It would have been cool to have had a contest at guessing what the last day would be that it was completely melted. It's possible they could hit August 1, which would mean snow existing for 11 months (from gun tests in October to remaining pile in August). Not too many places could brag like that.

They could also tie that pile into the TMC course this weekend.

Is it safe to assume the new trail will require less resources to get up and going?

Or it would be a great place to stick a keg to watch the TMC this weekend....

Depends on planned excavation.  If booters - and specifically Dumont-sized booters - aren't being designed into the land profile, then a similar amount of snow making will be needed to create them.  (Assuming DC will be held in new park.)

The presser did say that it would be "home" to the DC

also said they were digging the pipe into the ground over there but no real mention of other features.

The big booters and landings must still need a significant amount of snow?

I would think they'd still need a lot of snow.  I've heard rumors that hydrants will be down both sides of the new trail.  Given the width, that would be smart if true.
