Especially to the 30 or so families that lost people washed out to sea. It must be hell for those in Hawaii and West Coast, just waiting for it to come knowing it is on the way. Prayers to all the victims.

Crazy footage !! The news said 6 foot waves are heading to Hawaii,20-30 foot waves hit those beaches every day.Do they mean a 6 foot surge that would make a MUCH bigger wave when it hits ?

I heard that too but I also heard that because the reefs and the rising of the sea floor around Hi. that the wave that hits the beachs there will be 30'. Now a 30' wave is one thing but a tsunami is not just a wave its like 50-100 waves stacked together. right now the 6' wave is is traveling at 500MPH it wil slow down by the time it hits Hi.

Wikipedia isn't a credible resource...
Simple Terms: a 5' tsunami means the Sea/Ocean rises 5' at a VERY high rate of speed.

For atleast a little while I will not be complaining about NCP, since I'm grateful it's not a NCT (Non Crystalized Tsunami)!
