As many of you know, I am a local restaurant owner, I will leave out the name for this discussion. I have met and enjoy the company of many of the members of this board. Recently we had a number of SR employees in, 15 plus people. They were so rude and drunk, that we asked them not to return. They said, "Just you wait, we work at SR and we're going to tell everyone not to come here." When I contacted management about this, they stated, there was another side to the story. The evening after the incident, a woman seated next to the group called to order to go food because she enjoyed the food so much. I apologized for what happened, and she stated "She was appalled at how they spoke to the owner." I said I was that owner. Now they have gone onto a web site and stated completely false statements about the event. I am extremely disappointed with the way SR has chosen to deal with this.

Escape, we are with you. We love your place and have never had bad experience. I especially enjoyed the night when we helped you guys close up including putting the stools up when we were done drinking....MB
Thank you for your support! We are so disappointed with how it has gotten out of hand. We did everything we could for these individuals, discounted their apps and drinks, because they were SR employees. They were also wearing their SR jackets and having drinks which is against the policies of SR. I now know why, SR has no control over how the employees act in public and to use their employment as a way to get things for free is appalling and then to say "We'll show you, we work for SR and we're going to tell everyone not to come here!"
Gotta go with what you believe to be the right thing to do ... even if it does cost you a few SR employee morning-after car counts. ;-)
I would agree that it is the employees but when you use that employer to threaten, that becomes the employers responsibility. I was in the corporate world before and if I had ever used my employer's name to threaten people, I would have lost my job immediately. We have spoken with management and have even told them we could provide a third party view, thanks to the woman that called in the order! They didn't want to hear it. Thank you for your support in our restaurant!! We try to do our best and provide good, consistent food and service, so thank you again!!
Big Fan of your Business. Sorry to hear that you had a poor exchange with patrons.

Which website were the false statements posted?
Thank you for your support! It was a fairly well known website.
escape, if folks from my company were out wearing company colors and behaved poorly and I got a call....I can guarantee you some folks would be in trouble....especially if your view about them using the SR employee status to gain something....I would probably thank you for your concerns and handle privately....

Regardless, I know you have loyal following from many that we hang with. Agree with sitzm...do what you think it right and what is best....
I come in more off season than in season. I think I helped put the bar stools up one night early season as well. I enjoy that you visit the table and take a friendly approach. No issue here.

Last year I remember a very drunk mountain employee in your place that others may have found rude and if not for the cool head of one message board regular the SR employee would have started a fight (for absolutely no reason) with another message board regular in your place.

Management might want to remind some of their employees that even tho they are off duty they still are the face of the mountain.

I am not one to shy away from a good time but causing the local businesses to lose customers does no one any good.

I agree, we support SR wholeheartedly. We also have a business in Martha's Vineyard and we have all of SR's brochures there, including trail maps posted on our walls. We LOVE to ski and we LOVE Sunday River and if we can get more people to ski there, it's good for everyone!! More ticket sales, more snowmaking, maybe even that waterpark!!
+2 GoBu, +2. But that might has provided us with hours and hours of humor. When in bad mood, I think of that night....classic classic classic.
+1.

SR employees need to remember that they're representing the resort at all times. No free passes.
Will check out Trip Advisor (escape, can you confirm) and defend L's at some point today.
Dissapointed!
