The BCS is done for another year. Hopefully, the powers that be are listening to the snickers and laughter of their system, and moving towards setting up a real playoff within the next 2-3 years as has been reported.
Meanwhile, the NFL playoffs are underway. There was only one upset this past weekend, which results in a re-match between the "Tebows" and the Pats this coming weekend...
I predict Pats will get past the Broncos, and then the Ravens in the AFC championship, but unfortunately I agree with Peter King of SI that they will ultimately lose to the Saints in the SB.
Do y'all have any predictions on the road to Indy?

They waited until kick-off to shoot him up.
Obviously, they should have did it around noontime. Needs a little time to Kick in, like a cookie.

The "experts" look at the talent on the Eagles roster and are star struck.
Look at it this way.... At least they think Eli is a top 5 QB.
Never saw the Giants better than 4th in odds. some have GB ahead of NE but they have been the top two from the minute the SB ended.

Permalink Reply by MonkeyBrook on February 9, 2012 at 3:36pm Hmm, guess I heard wrong....Sorry man, you will have to explain who the talent is on the Eagles team....other than Leshon McCoy, no stars on that team in any way. I am putting a dime on the G-Men!

Permalink Reply by Ripsaw on February 9, 2012 at 4:10pm Bizarre isn't it ? I'm sure if you asked someone in the casino business this question, they'd have a response that seemed perfectly logical to them and fits their business model, but it escapes me.

Permalink Reply by MonkeyBrook on February 9, 2012 at 4:14pm The betting world is odd, but i guess we dont have to lay $$ down if we dont want too, right. Wish the Giants were 50:1.....Vegas lost big on the Giants if 65% of the money was on the Giants but they won big on the over under (55)....last I heard money was 50-50 (perfect for Vegas)......

I have to laugh at some (not all) of the "experts" in the Boston media who think that Brady is suddenly washed up and they need cut Welker loose to blow up the Pats before next season. The Superbowl really came down to 2 (or 3) plays that if they had gone the other way, we'd be talking about Brady as the best ever. Instead we're talking about how Eli is now suddenly an elite QB (which he already was before this SB).
Eli gave the credit to Manningham. Manningham gave all the credit to Eli ("that's all Eli, he is as cool as the other side of the pillow", great quote). And Wes Welker didn't blame Brady for a high throw, he said "I make that catch all the time in practice" and took responsibility , and Brady said he would keep throwing the ball to Wes and praised him. And that is how Couglan and Bellichek run their teams. To their credit.
You have to respect both of these teams and congratulate them for their success. And the owners for letting the Football people run the football program unlike some other teams. Can't wait for next season to start it all over again. In the meantime, WTF has happened to the Bruins lately? Ugliest game I've seen in a long time from them last night, 6-0 ouch.
PS - Saturday is bus day at Fenway, and pitchers and catchers report next week. Seems way too soon, but here we go. The Sox had such an ugly off season that it is almost the opposite of where they were this time last year, so maybe that is a good thing (yes, looking for the silver lining).

Permalink Reply by MonkeyBrook on February 9, 2012 at 7:15pm I agree with every single point that you made, just happy the Giants won the game. You are right about the Brady best ever vs Brady washed up......its ridiculous. As is the Eli is the greatest ever. I bet if we went back in history, Montana, Bradshaw, etc got a ton of breaks to put them in that Elite category. S***, Brady has gotten more than his fair share...cough cough...tuck rule.
