You’re at South Ridge now, right? Go to guest services and ask this question!

I am at SRTA, I called and they did not give any answer as to why the lifts where not running, just that they do not expect them to run today.

Ouch. That’s kinda lame. Stay warm out there !

I had heard that a couple weeks ago on a very cold day that South Ridge wasn't running due to the backup diesel engine not being able to be started.  With the extreme cold, they were worried they couldn't evacuate the lift fast enough if there was a power failure.  Could be the same today but that would just be another case of old equipment not performing.

There are several challenges we're facing out there today. Saturday morning's inspections revealed downed trees/limbs across the resort, plus we ran into several other lift mechanical issues caused by the cold temps and wind. Each of today's closed lifts has it's unique challenges, which is likely why our team was unable to give a specific reason over the phone. For example, South Ridge Express needs a part as a result of the extreme cold, which is either en route or about to be. The team is moving fast and efficiently, the plan is continuously shifting, and we're really should name a national holiday for our lift mechanics after this weekend. The majority of terrain will be back to its normal schedule tomorrow and the remainder by midweek. We'll know more tonight and update the Mountain Report as soon as we do.

That is excellent information especially about the south ridge express. So thank you, any info like that on the Choldola?
