No big surprise here, with all the new snow (on top of the old snow & wind).  WGME says that snow rangers predict an avalanche to occur TODAY with temps warming up.

So anyone thinking of going up there today should wait.

Good news is the bowl got filled up well from this storm.

I'll bet my paycheck that anyone who tries hiking into the ravine trail today will get stopped by the park rangers, regardless of the skier/riders' abilities. Common Sense ain't so common anymore...

The good news is, the Sherburne trail should be in good shape for a bit longer as well.
Do you guys REALLY HIKE up??!

Chris who runs the CAT for the weather dudes may call in the next week or so.
Anyone in on very short notice??
Nothin like crushin cans in the back seat all the way up the auto road while Chris pushes those avalanches to the side. Then, unload gear up top, make nice with the weathermen, drink One more and ski the snowfeilds DOWN to Tucks.

Pick W & I pick us!! we an go tomorrow!!!! lol
Nope. That's cheatin. Only one way up for me. Earn it!

Have fun guys. ;-)
I've earned my turns @ tux twice this year.

Riding up the Auto Road would be ridiculously awesome.

I doubt the snowfields will be skiing well at this point (but I'd love to find out). Those photos are from mid april of last year, hard telling what things look like right now.

MaryLou, it's steep. Snowfields are mellow, ravine is very steep.
See here for 5/5 photos......

I have done a couple of trips skiing from the top of the Auto Road (driving). Never skied the snowfields but have done the Great Gulf Chutes.
Kind of different hiking down to the top from where you are skiing from. The real deception is when it comes time to click out and hike back up from where you started.
Love to hike up, but would love to ride up as well...yes, available on moments notice.
wow, thx Steve!! would be so nice but I'm on a hiatus right now...
Latest photos of Tux showing huge crevasses opening in the Lip and Headwall areas. Me thinks that unless you venture into right gully (a crapshoot from the snowfields anyways), skiing the snowfields is somewhat pointless.
