50th Celebration: Which local restaurant won over your taste buds?

Great turnout at the South Ridge Lodge for sampling all the flavors of the local restaurants. Thank you all for giving us something different at every station to sample.

I know the lines were ridiculous, soon after the 6:30 opening, but if you were fortunate
enough to find the short lines and fill your appetite, which vendor was your favorite as
far as presentation, menu and generosity?

I had two favorites that were closest to the slopes.

The Lobster Stew from Liam's took top spot as far as my family and friends go. The coleslaw from the Good Food store was also great (I was on the wrong side of that line so that was all I tasted). Loved the idea, but the event was somewhat oversold.
I too loved the butternut squash lasagna, pulled pork with wild BBQ sauce and of course their cole slaw. Kudos to both Good Food Store and of course BBQ Bob. The $3.00 Preludes were pretty good as well! The fireworks were also spectacular. Other than the overcrowding, great job Sunday River.
This event was a nightmare!!!!
Need a major improvement to South Ridge to be able to host something like this well. SS Milton's seafood bisque was good.
I had a rather small sample size, but the Good Food Store was the hit of the night for me. We actually got to visit it twice because it was closer to 8:00. The butternut squash lasagna, and the chipotle beef casserole were amazing. I wish I could get the recipes!
Liam's lobster stew hit me! And to think I go there most every week and never have had it. Lisa has been hiding it on me! Plus she gets extra credit for serving us in the line across the room! Frequent drinking has its benefits for sure.

I also really liked the short ribs and shrimp from the Victorian, a place I have never been, but will surely venture to for a real meal.

Great time but boy was it crowded, almost no way to control that chaos in that building, but it was fun schlepping the lines just the same!!
This event was interesting. I would love to see it again. The price was right if the layout had been more organized. I propose using a venue like the Summit. Maybe one room with all the food and drinks and other rooms to eat and mingle.
I am interested to see what the vendors thought of the function. Did it give them enough marketing. I for one did not even know the Funky Red barn sold food. To be honest, I don't remember the few times I have been there.;)
The Funky has great !food and very cheap I may add.English muffin burgers are a hit with my kids ,Prime rib Thur. All ways have good things to say about food and Atmosphere .

The event was horrible. The crowds and lines were ridiculous, and it was so overcrowded I almost wish a fire marshal had walked in just to see what was happening. I was only able to get to about 4 of the tables because of the huge lines. I paid for the event and felt completely ripped off, more than half the people there just walked in with no wrist bands from slopeside and took advantage of the situation. As an owner in the Summit I was at the owner party last year (free) and even though it was crowded it was tolerable. The concept of having different restaurants set up tables was good, but this was so poorly executed that SR management should be ashamed of themselves.
All net proceeds from the 50th Birthday Celebration party go to the Sunday River Region Charitable Fund*.
Measured against the above objective, the crowding was tolerable, the food exceptional, and the price of admission certainly reasonable. All the restaurants that participated deserve a special round of thanks (and patronage) - tough environment to work in and produce a quality product and all did an excellent job! Saw some of the owners/chefs as they were departing after break down and clean up - they were exhausted.

Logistics are what they are - the crowding was comparable to past owners parties at the Summit. Same basic concept - line up and take your turn along the food tables. Stand, hold beverage in one hand, and a plate of food in the other. There were options for sit down or tall table eating, unlike owner parties.

It was $15 for good food, a chance to mingle with old friends and new, and it benefits what should be a good cause. On a value scale (mine) seems like a pretty good deal.

Bellissimo.
I had a great time Saturday evening.
Nice to see Mr and Ms MS69, GA2, BOBR, Left&Right, Skilab and VB.

Foggy Goggle puts on a good party, big fan. Fireworks were excellent. Frozen Tee Shirt contest was good.
Goggle Deck: thought it might collapse at one point.

Great job by security and staff. I saw Darcy and Jarod bussing tables too I think!
For me the function was good a little on the crowded side, saw a lot people and talked to most of them.
I thought the food was very good Matterhorn Pizza, Squash lasagna,(Right, said it was good).
Didn't get much food but it was still fun.
The fireworks were great, stood next to GA2SKI. sat with Right and Left, Skilab and BobR MS69 and Mrs. MS69 like the viking wondering around drinking out the horn he was carrying great pic will upload later tonight.
So Funny!!!!
