Maybe something to do next summer.
I've also been wanting to do that 24hr Bike race at Great Glenn.
Hmmmm, 2 good things to try next summer.

I don't see the point of a 50 mile race in CV, hard-sell when you consider 50 miles on a MTB will take a VERY long time (depending on the terrain...). Hmmm, second thought: Maybe I'll do it.

VT mtb scene is 3 or 4 times bigger (# or riders) compared to anything you'll get in Maine, I wasn't considering the # of people that would travel from VT to ME for the race though. Very cool. Let me know if you're going to ride. Would be a ton of fun to compete.
The Great Glen race sounds like a weight-weenie party.

I don't know KC. There is a huge group that does these endurance MTB races. The VT 50 sells out in 1 hr evey year and there is a waiting list 100 people deep. I bet they get pretty good traction being in July. The course has only 5,500 feet of climbing which is easier then the VT 50 at 9,000. It would be a great training ride. Great Glen I understand is a fun event with lots of teams. Half of my MTB ride group will be there competing on various teams. Bring multiple batteries for your lights. The Great Glenn trails are on both sides of rt 16 but I think the race actually happens on the Mt Washington Auto Road Side.
