"I'm glad SL has been getting the snow, they need it more than SR"

LOL ......that's funny Jerry, really. Jerry even prior to last week's natural snow, SL had as much open terrain as SR (measured in miles), which means SR's snowmaking system is not as powerful as advertised or they're just not committed to opening as much terrain as fast as they can. I'm guessing that if they saved some of the money they blow out those hoses in October, they might have more stuff open now.

I don't think anyone should be surprised about BW...they're located in a pretty heavy snow belt and have very good snowmaking.

SR: <5" of legit natural snow.
SL: >2' of natural snow

Pretty tough to argue those stats Rippy. Considering the base depths and open terrain SR has with 99% man made snow: I'd say the power of their snowmaking system is up to snuff.

Common sense ain't so common in The Rippy water cooler world.

Not suggesting it's not up to snuff. All I'm saying is that if it's more than twice as powerful as SL, I'd expect them to have a lot more terrain open. Frankly, I don't follow most of that crap. IMO, those snow making capacity stats are as puffed up as trail count, but when I saw this thread, I was very surprised.

Rippy, I penned a response to share the realities of the situation with you, but upon further reflection you need professional help with your SL vs. SR obsession.

SL rocks!  Enjoy the new snow and try to forget about SR.

Not another one........

you need a playbill just to keep track

All in fun.....Jerry and I have been needling each other for a few years now !!

Jerry. Reread the post. It was not started as a jab at SR. It was a jab at K. Hence the Jr reference.
My bad ... carry on.  :)

Huh?  Didn't U take all those bets with Jr?  Not into K bashing?  Kzone seems a bit obsessed with SR.  I'll delete the thread if U all wish to spare the insanity.  But with SL & SR both reporting in the 20" range, U may find it of note K only reports 14 :)

BTW, Brettonwoods claims 34" from this one but most importantly are now 100% open.  Whose happy place is that?

Saddleback this past weekend before the storm..All of you lucky folks up at Sunday River this week,All of you lucky folks up at Sunday River this week, do yourself a favor and make a daytrip to Saddleback.
I was there this past weekend BEFORE this last storm and was hitting all the natty trails and glades (glades were better).
Since then they have reported 32" since I left!  Not dissing Sunday River as we all love the mountain, but if you have a week up there add a little variety to the mix.
Here's a pic I took of one of the glades before I enjoyed it.  Imagine what its like now...
o

Great pix!

I'm headed there this week, since my silver pass is blacked out.
