JR is still hiking back up the new stairs to the Gondola from the Glades Triple ;)

Sorry but Bretton Woods has 412 acres and 81 trails... and Sugarbush has 66 trails... and Jay Peak and Stowe aren't far behind with 61 and 63 trails repsectively. Okemo is CLAIMING the most open terrain in the East with 76 trails.

What's in a number anyway??

Sugarloaf hasn't even got top-to-bottom yet !!!!
who cares...
commical that BW should even enter this discussion. Ripsaw is correct. MB a hippo - it mattered to MB prior. Merry Merry everyone.

MB wishes everyone a merry christmas and hope all of your mts are 100% open.  WMS cheer up, life is good.

they also have better parks. hats off to sugarloaf

Junior is at Killington, where I SHOULD be, enjoying those 406 acres and all but one of the base lodges. Skye Ship base opens tomorrow with skiing from the Peak down to Rt. 4 and guns are still going strong.

Stairway to Heaven closed the week before Thanksgiving once they opened Great Northern and other trails for TTB skiing.

Enjoy what you got and hopefully some of these passing storms will help us out. I need a POW fix.

Oh yeah, MRG is OPEN.

SL has their jump line all primed for hiking, hope SR builds rocking chair soon.

Those stats are a bit surprising, especially since SR has more than double the snowmaking capacity of SL. I guess that only matters if you use it.

Old info.  419/72/28 reported as of X-mas day.  airglow/black h*** roped, but groomed so should be online tomorrow and Woodsman/Princess looking very good - possible open tomorrow on ungroomed??  Upper downdraft was very tempting today ... kinda looked open and kinda didn't.  Guns on.  No rope stretched, but snow is piled higher than rope would string between trees anyway.  BIG swales ... surely someone poached...

Only snow making trails left are QL, wildfire, southpaw, vortex, eureka, top gun, agony, pipe and RC.

SR's been using their snowmaking like crazy, but they haven't had any help from natural snow. That storm in the middle of last week dropped about a foot at SL and like an inch at SR. Mother Nature may reverse fortunes with this storm's snowfall or perhaps neither area gets much. I'm glad SL has been getting the snow, they need it more than SR and if they want to debut Bracket Basin this year with a respectable base in there, they'll need much more.

It is funny that Bretton Woods was brought up, but realistically, what's funnier is that this thread was started as a jab at SR - for whatever reason - and TTT (Who lives 2k miles a way) swooped in and punked out WMS with the surprising stat.

If some folks would get out and ski more, they'd realize that stats don't matter as long as you get to slide down any mountain. I'd prefer that every mountain be 100% open all the time. It's what's best for the sport. Get out and have fun and enjoy being in the mountains.

Peace and joy!
